Ken-

(BTW- The article/interview with Kirschner was posted on the thread about 6 weeks ago...I believe CNET first published it......Unfortunately, I don't have the time to dig it up now...but we'll try in the near future)..

I understood Kirschner to say that Micron will not be competing against Dell in the large corporate market, and that he comment implied (in the immediate future). Like all CEO's, he reserves the right to change his mind, and probably will do so down the road...

My point is, given this guy's background, and Micron's closeness to Dell's model, his (and his company's) capitulation, be it for six months or three years, is a powerful statement. IMO, it will be increasing difficult to compete against Dell in the large corporate space (as the time goes by)...(I believe) Gateway has also totally de-emphasized the large corporate market, and making a major push in this arena last year........This information has also appeared on the thread in the last six weeks....I don't think, even if Micron chooses to, that it will be easy to climb back into the large corporate area in the future....So, their hand could be forced with this decision (no matter how temporary)........Regardless, it appears that Dell is getting stronger vs. all rivals in this space....and all indications are that they will continue to do so.
