Just read Scott's message on the tick and I noticed that a 800-1000 point swing in the tick normally produced a 50 point swing in the DOW.
The greater the point swing the greater the probability.

Last Tue had many examples of that.

Another key is the absolute TICK count. Lets say that the tick dropped 1000 points and its ends up in the negative 1200-1500 range. That should indicate a short-term bottom.

If you can pull up a 1-minute chart of the TICK you will notice that we have been triangulating for awhile. I believe that the basic principal of triangular oscillation will also apply and there should be a surge forthcoming. Which direct, I am not sure yet.
