Leland. no, when I see that the market is pretty much in decline and the watch list doesn't offer big potential in the morning I scan for stocks that I haven't been tracking.. When I get a few stocks I quickly look to time & sales to see if I spot some big block buys, usually indicative of institutional interest and leads to higher gains. Today I got CPWR, NSCP, BMCS, AMES, ANF and a few others 5 minutes after the open on my scans, I couldn't get 'on top' of the others but I managed NSCP.. There is no time for charting, trendlines here or any other strategies. An important criteria is that I 'know' the stock. Either it's been in my watch list before and I've studied it's price patterns (i.e. CPWR, NSCP, BMCS) and I am familiar with it's intraday ranges. I wasn't familiar with AMES so I wasn't sure if the morning price would not possibly be the high for the day so I left it.

CMGI is my 'permanent' watch list candidate. I feel that this company is the "internet", and one of my preferred trading stocks so I watch it and keep it on a permanent 1 minute chart.
