SAIC WINS MAJOR DESKTOP COMPUTER SERVICES CONTRACT

(FALLS CHURCH, VA) - Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has been awarded a General
Services Administration's (GSA) Seat Management contract, which qualifies the company to provide a full
spectrum of desktop computing services to the GSA and other federal agencies.

The Seat Management contract represents a major change in the way the federal government currently buys desktop
computers and support services. In order to keep pace with technology, eliminate different sources for hardware
and software, integration, help desk and other services, and to improve security and reliability, federal agencies
will acquire desktop computing as a unified service known as "seat management" because services are paid for on
a "per seat" basis.

The procurement's total ceiling value is $9 billion with a base period of performance of five years. It has an option
for a five-year extension.

Under the Seat Management contract, SAIC will offer a full range of management, operation and maintenance
services for desktop computers, portable desktops, servers, communications, printers, peripherals and associated
network infrastructures and components. This includes definition, implementation, and management services
necessary to build and operate effective information technology infrastructure for federal customers.

The SAIC approach starts with analyses of a customer's financial and functionality investments in information
technology with recommendations for appropriate service level agreements, high-level plans, transition cost
estimates, and business cases. Next, SAIC provides the design, transition planning, notification, asset acquisition,
deployment, and comprehensive implementation tasks to create a strong technology and service base for the
customer. Once installation is complete, SAIC provides continuing user and infrastructure support, change
management, and ongoing asset management, ensuring that the customer receives the appropriate service.

"This award recognizes SAIC's strength in the information technology infrastructure services market," said SAIC
Group Senior Vice President Bob Cann. "We have assembled a skilled team which will provide these essential
services at high levels of quality and with a continued focus on customer satisfaction."

Employee-owned SAIC provides high-technology products and services to government and commercial customers
in the areas of information technology, systems integration, telecommunications, health systems and services,
national and international security, energy, transportation, and environmental systems and engineering. With the
recent acquisition of Bellcore, SAIC and its subsidiaries have estimated annual revenues of $4 billion and more
than 33,000 employees at offices in over 150 cities worldwide. More information about SAIC can be found on the
Internet at SAIC (www.saic.com). Information about Bellcore is available at Bellcore (www.bellcore.com).
