re: do they go for maximization of the space they can hit with their current business practice, or do they move up the food chain? It is not at all obvious that changing their infrastructure to hit higher up is a smart move. This is not a simple issue and I sure don't know what the right answer is for Dell.

CPQ may be making the decesion for DELL.
I read hat CPQ is beating DELL on price by as much as 15%, and 10% in general across the board.
If this continues, Might DELL be forced to move up to the higher points on the food chain ?
Or is the price competition not that important right now?
