Denver Techie, I second your thumbnail evaluation of ADC, but boy, did Homeworx look great on paper (4 color glossy paper.) Just thought I would add the recollection that Cadogan bought the premier MDS transmitter company, ITS, few years back, too. Great people, excellent technology, and a market (except some international) in the dumper. They make some UHF and VHF broadcast transmitters as well, as I recall, but the market that attracted ADC was the "burgoning" MDS arena back when MDS looked like it had a future with digital TV.

Maybe ADC/ITS will yet figure out a commercially profitable high volume application for their high power RF technology. They may be the only ones in the US (plus SAT in France) trying to bolt the OFDM modulation on the microwave transmitters. I guess that is their move toward corporate synergy and integration.

"...Such as patch panel cross connects (best in the industry)..."

DenverTechie,
Thanks for your answer. It was very helpful. But what is a "patch panel cross connect?" I'm wondering if it's related to the Tellabs, "digital cross-connect" product.

I was trying to do an evaluation of Tellabs (a networker I owned for quite awhile and traded in and out of for some great profits). But I don't own it anymore. Primarily because I'm concerned that their, bread and butter product, Titan digital cross-connect system sales will be slowing substantially.

I'm afraid to say, I don't know what a "digital cross-connect system" is. But for some reason I get the feeling that it may be something along the lines of being TDM circuit switch related. So as TDM equipment sales slow, so does Titan and maybe ADC's "patch panel cross connects?"

Just for anyone's information, if you review Newbridge Networks 10-K or maybe it's latest 10-Q, it is alarming how the sales of TDM equipment is slowing. The figures are in one of the SEC filings. So when I think I see a companies success tied to a TDM product, I get concerned.
Thanks,
MikeM(From Florida)
