Bill, >>>"That is the first I had heard of it, however Intel could buy whatever it chooses."

The Intel/Adaptec rumor has been pretty hot around Si Valley recently; well, if you consider rumors about companies that have recently found bad times being bought out "hot". Happens all the time.

Re: "Tony, Is adaptec a logical fit for Intel? Would they want to capture the adaptec
chip set and imbed it on boards, or even closer to the CPU?"

I don't think so. I think Intel built a SCSI interface into a recent chipset, but decided they didn't want it and recommended to customers to buy SCSI controller chips from Adaptec or Symbios instead. Someone help me out here. Speaking of Symbios, their SCSI controllers are designed into Intel's SC450NX Xeon up to 4-way server, not Adaptec's.
