Is this guy a snake oil salesman or should we hang around another year?! I see PUMA dipping below 3 in AM and making an all-time low........

Brad Rowe, President and Chief Executive Officer said, "During the past twelve months, our original infrared PC connectivity business has matured. Over this same time-period, the Company expended tremendous R&D resources to develop cutting-edge synchronization solutions for a wide variety of first-generation mobile devices. Unfortunately, most of these promising new devices were commercially unsuccessful, having run smack up against the PalmPilot and Windows CE platforms, which now dominate the market. These two factors alone essentially caused the Company's Q4 shortfall and will continue to have an adverse effect as we rededicate our focus on market winners, such as PalmPilot, Windows CE and cellular phones-areas where we are already strong."

Rowe continued, "There is a bright side to the transition. Throughout fiscal 1998, we've been developing NT server-based versions of Intellisync for Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes, which will support both Windows CE and PalmPilot devices enterprise-wide. This has been the largest R&D effort in our five-year history, and addresses what we believe is the biggest market opportunity by far. This product successfully entered beta testing last month, and we plan to begin customer shipments later this calendar year. We see strong interest in this unique and patented new server technology from major corporate users, Internet companies, as well as cellular manufacturers and carriers. If this product is as successful as we expect, you will see a very different company emerge from this transition."
