Perhaps you are right and all diplomatic channels failed but taking such drastic measures against a customer hardly encourages other companies that are shopping for suppliers. From a practical point, I think you would have to agree?

As for why 3D is moving up, that is simple. Investors are speculating that 3D might win the lawsuit and help regain some value. Companies almost always move up when they announce a big lawsuit against other companies. The true test will be in a few days or weeks when details of the lawsuit and some commentary from legal experts get out. the suit may be a short term boost for 3D but I don't think it was a smart long term move. Of course owning STB makes me far from objective in this matter.
