jack,

I guess I will provide you and all with some positive tidbits of information. Since you worked for the VA and are a Vivus shareholder you probably already know this but the VA will continue to be a significant consumer of MUSE since the VA has decided that Viagra is too expensive and the large "at risk" number of VA patients makes Viagra a poor choice for the VA.Jack, maybe you can tell us about how Vivus and the VA work out contracting information and if the VA is due for a large shipment of MUSE in Q3?

Another important matter to look at is the continuing downward spiral of new Viagra scripts. Todays data revealed a new script number continuing to sink and now almost 1/3 of its highs made back in May.
The refill numbers seem to be holding at the 80 t0 85k level but I am wondering about how many of these refills are from men who did not get much success from the first Rx and are going through at least one refill before giving up on Viagra? IMO if the second refill tends to be unsuccessful, I doubt a third refill or a new script will be obtained. The next question will be, How many of these failures will go back to the PCP since many have probably skimmed the MUSE literature and know that there is another treatment option? Also, how many PCPs are comfortable prescribing MUSE vs just refering to the urologist? As long as Vivus does not have a domestic partner calling upon the PCPs, it is my opinion that in the short term anyways (one to two months) the answer to these questions will determine where domestic MUSE sales will be heading. My gut feeling is that in light of the significant decline of new Viagra scripts the Viagra party is almost over and now MUSE will get a chance to start eating the left overs and hopeful start to show a rebound in market share.

jack,

With all due respects to VLAD....do NOT start dipping snuff. Have grown up in and around a Dentist's office and believe me, the effects of snuff are not pretty. The sugar in it rots your teeth and it is a quick route to mouth cancer for some. You'd be trading one bad habit for one that is not only disgusting, but that has the potential of ruining your health even faster than smoking.

OK....sorry for the preaching...VLAD probably was just joking anyway. Just bite the bullet and quit! We want you healthy for the VVUS party! Wait...let me take my temperature...can't believe I said that! LOL!

If you are tuff enough for VVUS then you are tuff enough to quit smoking.

Have a nice evening...
E'Lane
