Buy & Hold 'until the story changes' or about to change.

Sonny,

You sir are very generous indeed. I have no idea what DELL would do Aug.19-21 and frankly I am not all that concerned as I am not a short term trader.Right now my strategy is to by and hold and I have been doing so for close 2 years or so.Bought the stock on 10 or so different occasions if I remember correctly and sold a few once last year only to buy them back at a higher price.I would however change
my strategy if :-

1.The world wide PC demand sinks drastically for a prolonged period of time due to whatever reasons.

2.Dell's management strategy and growth prospects take a turn for the worst for whatever reasons.

Or in other words I'll stay the course unless 'the story changes' as Peter Lynch would say.

Devaluation of Renminbi and Hong Kong dollar could affect the U.S and worldwide markets drastically and Dell's stock price may not be immune from such an event at least for the short run since investors tend to dump everything in a panic situation. It is however interesting to note that such an event in all likelihood would not have much of an adverse impact on Dell as a company for obvious reasons if anything this should further help the company reduce the component costs due to the possibility of further devaluation by other S.E Asian countries to counter the Chinese move to stay
export-competetive, at least they tell me this is the thinking in knowledgeable circles but who knows???

Sonny,
buy low... hold...
That is THE best way to profit from all of these gyrations.
What do you make more money with, a share you buy at 110 1/4 and still have at 155, or a share that you:
buy at 118, sell at 123,
buy back at 113, sell at 117,
buy at 115 sell at 121.
Assuming you can time all this correctly and your assumptions are correct. DELL has a way of getting away from you when you are sitting in cash. I recommend buying tomorrow one hour after it opens. Hold forever.
