Kevin - More Delays for the K6-3 ?

Here's the first schedule:

{==============================}

techweb.com

"Into the second half of the year, AMD will boost the speed of the
K6-2 and also will introduce its third-generation K6, code-named Sharptooth, in the fourth quarter. Starting at 400MHz, Sharptooth will include 256 Kbytes of integrated Level 2 cache, Sanders said. "

Here's the NEW SCHEDULE:

ebnews.com

"AMD will introduce its K62 microprocessor with 256-Kbytes of Level-2 cache, dubbed Smarttooth, in the
first quarter of 1999.

Do you think they are re-designing the Sharptooth core?

Kevin,

Of course, Compaq will help Intel to fix the bugs resided in the Desctutes cores. It is truly the nightmare for the illegal copycat!

No wonder that Intel has been remarked their PII-350/400 as PII-266 and Celeron 266 to clean the defective PII junk on the open market.

Re: "More delays for so-called "cash cow" Xeon"

Sorry to disappoint you Kevin:

More Xeon servers shipping.

techweb.com

That makes Compaq, Dell and now DataGeneral.

Please post a list of the AMD servers that ever shipped at any time throughout recorded history.
