Excuse me for injecting my perspective on the discussion but FWIW..

Our company has both solicited and provided similar information however with a very strict "non-disclosure" agreement in place. We also do background checks with references, etc before we even get to the point of sharing this type of information. The attempt to secure confidential information from ZULU may have some merit from the perspective of how cavalier they are with proprietary data.

The outcome COULD then be:

1. They don't have a decent client base BUT they can hide that fact from us by claiming it as restrictive information.

2. They have a good client base and disclose the information to someone posing as a potential customer without proper protection. Not a "positive" either.

3. They have a good client base and will not disclose because they do their "due diligence" and discover the person/company making the request is not a potential customer.

IMHO the only thing we may discover is option #2 (above.) The other two would be extremely difficult to determine if they fall into option #1 or #3.
