thean...i notice that several charts of the osx components took "a beating" today by breaking last weeks low. ATW, HLX, FGII(ouch!), HAL. I'm sure there are more.

as for cdg:
"FLC is buying a shallow water driller with obvious
dayrate in decline" I'm not sure cdg dayrate has declined as others. I recall that cdg is ultra shallow with most of the fleet under 150' depth. The average rate was $22,000(I could be wrong on that one) based on the last earnings report. CDG stated that competiion was coming from rdc, mdco, esv, glm moving the premium jackups into shallower depths. they were lowering rates to compete with cdg but I haven't heard of cdg lowering yet...so maybe a good deal for flc grabbing the best value?

personally, i like beeble's straegy of picking M. Burke's brain for good put candidates. it has been effective for beebs i think.
