Guess I don't understand, Jurgen.
You wanted to integrate the QP data into your MS ACCESS trading
database in order to work around the disappointing backtesting/indicator building capabilities of Metastock and QP?
Would agree that looks like a major project.

Bob

Jurgen,

With QP1 backtesting/indicator building was quite difficult indeed. I also had an ACCESS database for these purposes, but I didn't import the whole database, just imported LST files and the prices of the selected stocks.
I installed QP2 last week and find it much better for backtesting. With the "for" loop you can easily backtest your system.
I changed my system and I am now using ACCESS more or less as Sean's QPUTILS, I launch a first set of scans from ACCESS, import the LST files, analyse and aggregate them and run a second set. Since I keep an history of my hits I can trace the performance by importing prices as well.
Importing prices could be avoided by using QP2 DLL's from VBA. I couldn't have it running with QP1 due to its 16 bits interface. Indicators building should be OK as well. I will start to develop this in a few days and will let you know how it works, if any interest.
