Compaq should be selling in the $50 range, to think this stock will stay in the low $30's for much longer would be a foolish financial mistake, especially come earnings time.

Without knowing what, if any, other positions G has with CPQ, the buying of covered calls only tells you that in the short term they think they can make money by doing so. They may have a far more substantial long position as their first play and the buying of covered calls is there second play being made with capital earmarked for a different kind of risk and investment. This is like the blind man describing the elephant.
