martin, Good point mentioning Denver Investment Advisors. Being that they have the largest stake in Vivus they currently have 2 choices to make regarding Vivus. They can allow the shorts to collapse the stock or they can support the price at its 52 week low which may very well pay off handsomely in the long run. They have too much money at risk currently to allow the shorts to collapse the stock's price any further. We are not talking a few bucks here and there but many millions of dollars. I actually wonder if they along with some other large holders are not giving Invemed the order to continue purchasing Vivus at 5 3/4 no matter what the cost. I also wonder how much longer the shorts intend to push their luck.
