Put that together with the recent strikes and layoffs. There is a fundamental economic shift that has been ocurring. Why should we expect it to be seamless, without pain? It's fantasy thinking. There's no fear yet, but wait -- it's coming. The US is not an island of economic prosperity. Wait till we see the numbers of the trade deficit the first part of next year. Exports to Asia aren't important? Yeah, right. That's 1/2 the equation. Other countries can buy from us or someone else. Sure we're buying up assets over there, but it can't be done fast enough. This isn't going to just be a ripple.
