Brooks,
I simply cannot fathom any of the majors (those that CF cares about), or for that matter many of the second tier or smaller banks choosing to do this kind of business with Citi, knowing how predatory the known to be.

I also happen to be one of the folks that think for a long time to come the general populace will continue to want to do business with an institution that has a convenient presence within reasonable proximity to where they reside.

Lastly, I think most people presume that their bank will bring out the same, or similar capabilities near term and thus wonl;t change unless, given a reasonable time, they fail to.

...but, as everyone always says, I could be wrong!

It's almost as interesting to watch Citicorp as MSFDC.

When NetScape announced a few months ago that they would be doing some sort of Bill Presentment, I got the strong feeling that Citi was pushing them into it. I also think Citi will find NSCP dragging its feet on bill presentment.

I don't see Citi as a real threat to CF, unless they start to outsource bill pay for more banks, which is very doubtful.
