Your example is good, the difference (IMHO) between ZULU and the company you sited is size and control. In many cases the smaller company is under "gag" orders through their major customers/contracts UNTIL that company makes the announcement. ZULU may be eager to release details but until they get the "green light" they have to abide by the demands of their customers. I know of a "case in point" where the smaller company released a statement which was somewhat innocuous in nature BUT it did mention the other company's name. There was quite a bit of fallout and the smaller company is still living in the shadow of not getting the business as a result.

I'm not sure how all of this is impacted in a merger scenario.
