"Jim, you have three one-pound coconuts and must cross a bridge
that supports 200 pounds - not an ounce more. You weigh 198.
How do you cross in one trip?"

Answer --- Juggle them :-)

Geoff,

Your problem specification does not state that you have the coconuts
on you they may already be at home in the pantry. If that is the case you may simply walk across the bridge at the 198 lb.

If you have the coconuts with you there are a number of options available to you.

One is you can ask someone to carry one of the coconuts across the bridge for you assuming they weigh less than 199 lbs and you can take the other two.

You can leave one of the coconuts behind and take the other two.

You can disrobe and walk naked across the bridge carrying the coconuts. I am sure your clothes weigh at least a couple of pounds.
This solution is favored by college students.

If the bridge is not too long, you can throw the coconuts to the other side.

There are perhaps an almost limitless number of possibilities.
