I'm leaving the country this afternoon to a place with no television, internet access (Fiji). Where do you think AAPL will be in 2 1/2 weeks when I get back? THis market makes me nervous...

JB (who has been holding AAPL for the last 6 years, waiting patiently (stupidly?) for these days...)

"As of this morning AAPL tripled it's 1997 closing price..."

BANG! 39 3/4! I've officially tripled my original 13 1/4 shares! Long and loving it! 53, here we come!

Fast, Cheap & Out of Control.

Yep, that's the video I rented.

(I figured it was an appropriate choice for the market today.)

FC&OC is a documentary by Errol Morris (Thin Blue Line) which juxtaposes the accomplishments of a circus animal trainer, a topiary gardener, a man who studies the behavior of naked mole rats and a man who develops robots.

Dialogue, image subject matter are collaged in a free-wheeling manner which alternately delights and terrifies.

So what have I missed?

Oh.

>We've far outperformed the market this year and I expect that to continue.
As far as AAPL is concerned things look great. The bigger concern in the
near term seem to be the weakness the the overall market.<

Two predictions I made to myself:

1) Last night, that AAPL would peak today at 45 and close at 43. Let's see.

2) At the beginning of the year, that AAPL would get up to $40 and that the overall market would simultaneously tank allowing me to sell off my AAPL and buy diversified mutual funds at scared-cheap prices.

My portfolio is doing fine today but I know friends and family will be calling tonight asking what to do.

Be careful what you wish for.
