Jim, that is T-i-p-p-e-t. I have not been praying for a market crash and don't desire any calamity on anyone, but I think a somewhat serious adjustment is coming. Of course, I want to be on the right side of the thing if it happens. Who knows perhaps this will all blow over -- I've been wrong before.

What blows me away is the total disregard for history displayed by the talking heads. They know that market returns for the past 5 years have exceeded historical norms by leaps and bounds and there is no mention of caution with these folks. Stay invested they say. Ride it out they say. They won't be hurt, but they will sure be found in the end to have hurt a lot of folks -- that bothers me somewhat. Can't help it.

I hope the market drifts downward in a slow grinding fashion, but I'm not sure it can happen that way. I care about what happens in other nations, too. I love this country, but I'm not a blind patriot:
"my country, right or wrong." If somebody else makes a better widget and I need one, I'll buy it. Other folks need to eat, too, right?

Jim, I totally agree about economic disaster creates the potential for war as history shows us. it is unfortunate that those in a position to do something about it usually fail to act. Mike
