Oops I made a mistake. But it doesn't matter whether it was selling or buying. It is still a short term position and my argument about the futility of trying to guess what G is up to and what it means long term for CPQ is pointless. After the fact it may turn out as you are saying. But a year from know I bet it means nada.

Selling "Covered" Calls cannot be considered bearish. The term covered requires holding the stock (being long). It would not make sense to be bearish and hold the stock at the same time.

Selling covered calls is a bullish/flat strategy. This may include some sort of short term downtrend expectations.
