re: Yeeeshh!!!

I do not think I should have come back. Those two weeks out were very relaxing. Its nice that they linger a few more days to get me through the acclimation period.

Apparently I should have all been in US dollars while I was away. Actually my portfolio held up fine, but Asia, the Yen, and the Dow did surprise me with the gloominess of their state. I'm surprised too to be reading forecasts of recessions in Great Britain and elsewhere in Europe. A cycle of declining worldwide demand was not the prescription I recall for Asia.

So where do you folks see this going!?!?! Is there any good news out the re: Asia? It's hard for consumers and business to maintain their confidence should things continue worse, and Japan seems on that intent.

Is there any good news period? Stitch did find something on speech(/voice?) recognition and how it may actually be the next killer app. Perhaps there is a glimmer there, get people again fascinated with the future. It seems we need demand drivers and depreciation of currencies just does not seem to be cutting it.

Regards,
Lee
