FLATVILLE, I watched a fair size part of show. I thought Tony KEYES ans especially his partner were unduly alarmists which I believe contrasted with Steve Horne's tone which I thought was right on the Money. The Presidents man not too surprisingly was too sanguine in my opinion about the status of the governments readiness.

Hi Flatsville,

I accidentally came across this program on the "Washington Journal" segment on C-SPAN yesterday and only saw three of the four guests. As one of the other threaders reported, the range of urgency was rather large which, no doubt, the viewers must have found pretty confusing.

The people phoning in to have their questions answered were the most interesting part of the show. IMO, about a third of the callers seemed to know what the nature of Y2k was and its likely problems. However, the other two-thirds were quite clueless. Of this latter group, the overriding concern was WILL MY [PENSION, WELFARE, SOCIAL SECURITY, AND/OR PAY] CHECK [ARRIVE IN THE MAIL OR BE CREDITED TO MY BANK ACCOUNT] AND ON TIME. Most of guests hedged their answer to this question, including the Prez's guy.

It will be interesting.
