>>>In a way the shorters do us longs a big favor. I'll bet the shorts are a lot more jittery than we are.<<

Hi Rosemary,

I've thought that for some time based on my experience discussing RMBS with shorters that the ones that do are very quick to cover. As pieces of the RMBS puzzle fall into place, this becomes obvious. As far as potential longs go, when they see the "spikes" on news (especially in a market like todays') it would be logical to assume that they are questioning the wisdom of waiting to establish a position. Remember that the news releases will be coming from all directions (the licensees), imagine being short and never knowing where and when the next big announcement will come. No stock is immune to deteriorating general market conditions, but at the same time, when the market goes down, that's when the focus goes to "stock picking". IMO, RMBS looks like a sure bet in that dept. Take care, bp
