Haven't really seen any references to that at all. But I tend to favor the PSFT strategy. The MSFT, SAP strategy only works if you can twist your customers' arms. Like IBM could when they were the only act in town. It also helps if you have the "blue chip" name - IBM's old slogan "Nobody ever got fired for choosing IBM."

It's the same kind of mentality that SAP has working in its favor. In a blind taste test, though, I suspect customers would choose the less unwieldy, more flexible option.
