Went long VIP at 30.5 today based on some good newz outta russia and based on some technical support points. 28-30 is a technical support point for this stock. Looking at the chart, early June 97, late Oct 97, and early Feb 98 held firm at these support points. Also, Vimplecom (as listed on the RTS) in russia wasn't hurt yesterday according to an article on tsc. thestreet.com Bloomberg machine this morning had a positive story on Russia. yields on the eurobond fell, also the RTS was up, finance minister swearing on Lenin's grave that Russia won't devalue nor default (like he can say anything to the contrary). My only concern is that Rostelecom (long distance and local phone) wasn't looking so hot and they're somewhat related to the industry that VIP (cellular) is in. Anywayz, just wanted to say hi as I'm the new kid on the thread...
