The sales drop was due to

1. Compaq's glut of server products and reduced orders for Pentium Pro

2. IBM's glut of server products and reduced orders for Pentium Pro.

3, Intel terminated Pentium Pro wafer starts - late Q1/early Q2 - to purge their system - and the OEM channels - of Pentium Pros.

4. Customer "holds" - both OEM and end-user - for, as you noted, the impending release of Xeon servers.
