Bonnie; Did you see my post as to why Small Cap indexes by their
nature and virtue, can not keep up with the major indexes.
Hence in comparing them the Small Caps will & can most often
appear to under perform more than they really have, that is
via & relative to their big brothers.

Their handicap is that many of the better runners after advancing
so far no longer qualify as small caps, and get took out of the
index just as they start making good gains. So the nature of
the small cap index is that the top is always getting sort of clipped
off, were that does not happen to the S&P500, etc.
In a market that is so momentum rotated, when your best MO MO
issues quit to go to work in the high class end of town, your
your litte stock index is going to suffer , relitivly speaking.
