DD,

I think you meant 348 on the Russell. As I understand it, we came within 1% (394) of violating the Russell's long-term uptrend yesterday (390). A close below 390 would have meant a leg down to 348. We're at 406 now, up 3% off the intraday lows, a pretty nice move in my opinion. A close above 419 would be very bullish, according to the technical analyst I was listening to this morning (Elaine Yeager from Herzog something).

Not a bad day so far, and in a rare on-topic comment, I like the fact that CELL is making higher lows (12 1/2 vs. 11 7/8, I believe). A nice positive for us for once. I've got to say, I'm pretty pleased with a couple of my recent sell decisions too: CLST and AFCI. Whew. Dodged bullets there.

Other than that, I'm ready for this train to head north. Any lower and I'm going to be buying drug stocks.

Paul

DD,

It occurred to me that you must have been right on the Russell's 39 week moving average being at 438. As it was up around 500 at one point, it makes sense that the 39 WMA could be higher than we are now. What we were in danger of violating at 390 was the Russell's long-term uptrend dating from December 1994. Pretty bad stuff.
