Brees, thanks it does. However I believe tankers were mentioned; perhaps not?

Finding out the age of the ship would be great.

So this is a ferry that shuttles people back and forth from one island to the next; I thought that is what it appeared to be.

I don't mean to appear negative but there are ferry systems who have trouble making it; I am a bit skeptical about the success of this as a company.

If someone knows more about this and could share it that would help too.

Hydrofoils, never rode one but must be fun. Instead of helmsman, the "pilot" "flys" the ship almost like an aircraft. The hull raises substantially out of the water, to reduce the frictional coefficient and consequently increase the speed.

Although out of my engineering field, imagine that bow and steering thrusters are used instead of props.
