Hi Steve: The number of TGNT admirers never ceases to amaze me. First George Gilder, now Danny Zito of Legg Mason (maybe he inherited his bias from Jack Reagan)! I did not read the 15 markets announcement as particularly significant, since the threshold to start commercial services in a market need not be particularly high. The point about Winstar needing to migrate its P-P operations to P-MP is valid, as well as the advantage of having only one vendor, except if the Nortel-BNI equipment turns out to be inferior, in which case TGNT would pay a hefty price.
