Bob Davis, Lets set the record straight, and lets begin with you. Here is your post from July 31. ----------------------------------------------------------------- To: +Gennaro (5605 ) From: +Bob Davis Saturday, Aug 1 1998 3:01PM ET Reply # of 6254 Gennaro, The Independent is a small island newspaper, which is normally published in paper form on Wednesday. Its web site, which is managed by someone else, is updated each Friday around noon. I know this for a fact since I have been watching this web site since I first began following GLOW several weeks ago. Yesterday, the web page was not updated at noon, and had still not been updated when I looked again fairly late in the afternoon. Since I had other "peas on my platter" I did not have a chance to look at it until about 1:00 PM today. Some time between yesterday around 3:00 PM and today at 1:00, the article was published on the site. Until that time, the lead article from the week before - which concerned a prisoner in the local jail who married a somewhat older English lady while still incarcerated - was still on the web site. The article in The Independent specifically includes a hypertext link to the GLOW July 30th press release, and it specifically states that, as of its publication, the Minister of Finance, Industry and Planning for the Commonwealth of Dominica has not signed any type of an "agreement" with GLOW. In addition, the article makes it clear that Mr Timothy first needs to take any such agreement "to Cabinet" for their approval. Further, it fairly evident that the Commonwealth of Dominica is not expecting to receive $9,000,000 as its portion of the proceeds from the GLOW relationship. In fact, their expectations from their existing licensing agreements with the six internet casinos which are domaciled there is only EC$3,240,000, or about US$1.2 million in the coming year. Since the Commonwealth is planning a bond issue to raise about US$7.4 million for housing (yes, I actually read the local papers down there...) the sudden arrival of US$9.0 million would create a bit of excitement. Since that "excitement" has not been reported in the local press, it seems safe to assume that there is nothing here to get excited about. Bob Davis The Napeague Letter napeague.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- You have still not apologized for your claim that no contract existed. Your web site has changed on a number of occasions since the original reporting of the incident, always with your negative spin. You apparently decided long ago on your opinion of GLOW and nothing will change that opinion. Ask yourself this, This agreement calls for the Government of Dominica to receive 10%, currently projected to be 9 million dollars, are you suggesting that an agreement has not been reached with the government over this ????? Are you still asserting that no agreement exists. Your reporting on this claimed that contrary to the July 30 press release that no contract existed and that the company had openly lied about it's existence. (Read your own words above !!!!!) and you have the nerve to come to this forum and state "It is always nice to be vindicated. And there is no need for anyone to apologize to me." VINDICATED, NO NEED FOR AN APOLOGY ?????, you have some nerve. Here's your apology, I'm sorry that you have proven that you are not man enough to admit when you are wrong. I have yet to read one word on your website to counter your original statement that no contract existed. Now you can spin this any way you want, but those who were here throughout this sorry incident know what happened. jjbucci
