The point is that AMAT is already making losses, add the write-offs to the order backlog comsumption, and the forward recognition of orders that might have been booked next q and substantial losses appear.... Again, IMO AMAT will lose a great deal of $$$$ (10c+) next Q unless they take a further restructuring charge to pay for lay-offs.... Jtechkid..... with all due respect. AMAT kept R&D costs high because they couldn't clip them fast enough, because of their horifically timed expansion.... not because they're playing for keeps in the brave new world. Your previous post in which you said that NVLS was a better bet because they had recognized the nature of the market, was the right way to go.... AMAT will suffer for their sluggish response.
