Thanks for the correction , I didn't really mean PII (due to extra expense of external cache). A P266MX-333MX would have been appropriate.

stayed with the PentiumMMX and run it up to 333MHz and made them for $25.

Jim,

I'm confused as to why you think Intel brought out the Celeron rather than running the Pentium up to 333 MHz. Are you sure that would have been possible?
