Puts on the S&P 100. Seems to me the only way to really make money in a down market is to buy puts on those hi-flyers (CMGI, DELL, AOL ,etc) another way is to buy puts on the S&P 100. Of course the way this thing 'rolls' is unbelievable. You can make or lose 3-4k in minutes with an investment of 20k, but you can also have a breathing period of a few hours as well.

I held on a few hours though, and could have held on most of the day. Tomorrow morning first thing is to see what the market climate is like. Best way is to check out the Asian and European markets during the night and watch the S&P futures in the morning. By the morning, I'll have looked at all the upgrades/downgrades and early morning earnings reports, new alliances etc. I'll post by 9:10 on the market gems real-time data feed. If tomorrow is another down day, I'll be prepared.

For members, please check both the data feed and the bulletin board early in the morning. There will always be something to play...
