OT....The system from schwab is set up for quick execution and works well to pull those fractions on trades. of course, sometimes it goes too well and doesn't allow me to pull back from the brink. I have heard the software is no longer available and now only the web is the medium for trading w/ them, i.e. on line. A friend has gone thru the training in Bellevue but he doesn't care for the "macho, rock 'n roll" trading environment on their floor. As a result he has gone in w/ several others to create his own trading desk at home. now he tells me the firm in Bellevue is making their system available for off-site use. I will call him to see how things are going and how he likes his set-up. In answer your question about level II, no, I don't use it at work since it can be too distracting from the core movements in the market, imo. I simply watch the overall trends via indicators such as the tick and trade accordingly. Primative, I know, and surely several others here are significantly more sophisticated in their methods but this is what I use. Trading full time certainly has its appeal but I would have a difficult time keeping a balanced perspective and view on life since this gambling, er.. ah... I meaning investing, already absorbs too much psychic energy at the present.
