Steve-

I don't understand Dave Ackermans comments that P-MP equipment is not available. TI had it available over two years ago so did Stanford/HP, so clearly have Hughes and TNGT say they have tested in commerical environment and sent a bill covering usage.

Regards,

L

Hi Steve:

I think that WCII will need to reprogram its hubs
for P-MP at some time. The number of roofs which
become economically viable increases substantially.
Also, the bandwidth allocation features of P-MP are
too attractive. I will need to check, but I am under
the impression that P-Com's P-MP equipment allows
an upgrade of the older P-P equipment without requiring
a complete replacement.

You are right in noting that from a networking point of
view, you can easily have P-P in one city and P-MP
in another. Bits are independent of the physical layer
transmission system.

Best regards,

Bernard Levy
