Maybe we all should be looking at the silver lining in this mess. Sure all the longs wanted (and expected) a great run to earnings. However, in light of the downdraft of this past month I'd say we're doing pretty damn good!! I dumped various positions back in July to load up on Dell and even though Dell hasn't provided me with any great fortunes for doing this, it has protected me from the drops in those other positions. Today during a boring moment or two I went back & took a look at some charts of my old positions that had the effect of making me quite happy where dell is right now. At a cost basis average I'm holding Dell at around 109 1/2 and I have no problem with Dells current level.

So anyway, sit back, relax, and ponder how bad your positions could have been if you were holding lots something besides Dell. (Sure there are some others that have held up ok to but we're mostly Dell-heads here) If you got into Dell (like me) recently and was hoping to grab a quick profit and move on ... well TOUGH! Hold onto the Dell and consider yourselves lucky. It has proven, to me at least, that it can hold up in these crappy, wacky waves of uncertainty. And as always if you've been holding Dell for awhile and plan to continue holding it, turn off the TV, throw out the newspaper and go to sleep for a decade or so.

Good night all, let's hope tomorrow is a better day. :-)
