Dippy,

Time for a slap.

Slaaaaaaap, Whaaaaaaaaaaam, Whooosh. Happy now?

Looks like you are back to being yourself again. We heard what you had to say, so what? You think you are being very innovative by pointing these things out? Dumb ass, bend down and scratch your brain.

Baron.

Look at what happened to Indian auto companies
when they were left to themselves -- they made the same damn Ambassadors and
Fiats (both of which are based on borrowed technology, btw) for decades.

I have to disagree with you. The reason was that politians would not allow any other company to enter the marketplace and compete. And you know what happens when there is no competition.

Indians are very capable of producing almost anything. Witness the nuclear test done in secret. And look at all the top execs., biz persons, Doctors and professionals. They do very well in this country. The simple reason is that they have the freedom to do what they want.

When the politcians become less selfish and think mpre about the country and Depend on the experts in different fields to give them advice on the direction, you can be sure that India will progress in any field of endeavour.

Right now India has the best opportunity to leapfrog since IT is very brainpower oriented and not as financilly oreinted as the Industrial revolution.

Will India do it ?? Frankly I dont know the answer. I do know that they have been making attempts by making Computers easily and cheaply available (reducing impirt duties) and making Internet competitively offered. So far VSNL has the monopoly and has not been willing to give it up. One day.......
