Mrs Hunt-

I hate to jump into squabbles, but I believe you are missing the point made by others the past few weeks. That is, the reasonable request for the facts(or factors) behind your prognostication re NT downturn. Without knowing your assumptions or predictive criteria, we cannot in good conscience just endorse your position. We do not know you and have no way to judge your credibility. A logical presentation of your position and support for same might eliminate any perceived sniping. My concern is that others have made this request of you before and your response has unfortunately been just a reiteration of your prediction. If you wish to be listened to, give us a cogent reason. Otherwise, you are just wasting your online time on this thread. Neither hypers or trashers have gained an audience here; I wouldn't want to see you left by the roadside over a misunderstanding.

Paul

<It doesn't take a degree to figure that out. >
I believe you speak from experience. Sorry, no losses yet, bought before the split. Regardless, my position here isn't large enough to hurt me. The majority of blood is spilled on ASND on a bad day.

If I were at a loss I would re-purchase at this level. If someone with intelligence was to convince me it was going lower, outside of normal market pressure, I might consider a short position.

I buy telecom equipment makers to the likes of CSCO, LU, ASND, ALA, ERICY, NOKIA and NT. I don't have the losses you speak of, to blame on anyone. The portfolio fluxuates with the market, and I don't have much use for rocket scientists telling me that any stock is going lower in the middle of a correction.

I try to get useful information to base buy and sell decisions here. Most of us aren't interested in: Dah...I think it going down, whether they say it with emotion or not.

Try something like: DSO is increasing, they are behind in dense wave division multiplexing technology, the CBX 550 is killing them, anything, except Dah...everyone knows its going lower, and if you want to know why, its cause your taking losses.

Thanks for your insightful posts,
Kent

MrsHunt,

When are you going to cover your short position?

Mrs. Hunt,

Why don't you provide the facts? It's not enough to say the stock will
drop and to expect everyone to listen to you. If you are short, that's
fine, you are entitled to your opinion, but do you think you are going to influence the stock down? Don't flatter yourself. If you are not short, why are you wasting your time pushing your opinions? You try to sound logical, but without explaining why you think NT will drop, nobody is listening.

P.S. I baught NT at about $12 (adjusted for split), so don't lecture
me about losing a bunch of money and getting emotionally involved
with my investments.

Ms. Hunt,

Interesting that you pick $40 for NT. At 40 that puts Bay at 24 (40*.6) which of course is roughly the support level attained prior to the buyout. I certainly dont see NT going any lower than 40, which is one big reason for me to be cheering the NT/Bay merger. Certainly NT could trade down to 40, but at those levels NT would be a screaming buy. The Price / Sales ratio currently is the lowest of the Big Three (Crisco, Loosent, and NT) ... At $40 bucks, NTs P/S ratio would be approaching 1 (on a forward sales basis). This would seem rediculously low compared to criscos 8X and Loosents 4X.

You sound like the same people who were arguing that CS and COMS were screaming buys at 40 and 80 respectively. Look at those stocks now. cabletron is going to have to return to it's roots and start selling cables to be profitable again. COMS has given up on the Enterprise (see their recent announcement on SME) so they are taken the low-margin road.

NT and Bay have *all* of the pieces from end-to-end that are required to build todays and tomorrows networks. Unless you have evidence that NT can't integrate aquisitions (which I havent seen) then I cant imagine the reason to be bearish at theselevels.

Granted we may have to wait a few years to have crisco of loosents valuations, but it is a THREE WAY RACE, and NT is currently number 2. (sorry crisco you're number 3)
