Yes, Merlo, I agree that Compaq could be the next IBM.

The problem I have with that is two fold:

1) Is there room for 2 IBMs? The first one is doing rather well, and I have to question if there's a market for two of them.

2) Is it a good thing to be the next IBM? A strong powerhouse for consistent earnings it (now) is. An exponential growth stock, it's not. If you like cash dividends, then I guess you'd like to see Compaq become more like IBM...
