Bloomberg Online: U.S. Equity Preview

New York, Aug. 11 (Bloomberg)

Adobe Systems Inc. (ADBE): The top maker of desktop graphics
software said it may report a loss for the third quarter and will
fire as many 300 employees, or 10 percent of its workforce, as
Asia's slump reduces demand. Adobe also said three executives
resigned. Revenue in the quarter ending Aug. 28 is likely to be
$220 million to $225 million, compared with $230 million a year
ago. Analysts had expected the company to earn 52 cents a share,
according to a survey by First Call Corp. The company expects the
job cuts to save $50 million to $60 million a year. Adobe Systems
fell 1 3/8 to 30 13/16 before trading was halted.
