Santiago,

I would enjoy further conversations with you about the missions of the apostles.

<<The Kingdom program and the Body Church program differ in that the promises made to the Kingdom Church are earthly and the promises made to the Body Church are heavenly. >>

To tell you the truth I never heard that there was both a Kingdom Church and Body Church program. Could you make a list what promises are given to who?

As to the apostles not ministering to the anyone but the Jews, you are entitled to your beliefs but I would like to throw in some assumptions.

1. If the 12 apostles preached only to the Jews (13 if you count Paul) but only 1 preached to the Gentiles (Paul) then why wasn't a greater proportion of the Jews, who knew the laws of God converted? These apostles even had power to raise the dead!

2. I believe Paul was hated by the Jews because he told the truth and it hurt them. As a result they decided to retaliate against him rather than to believe him and be converted.

<<Does this sound like Paul and Barnabas were preaching and teaching the same message as the twelve? I think not. The Kingdom church still followed the Law of Moses, just as Christ had taught them to do. With one exception animal sacrefice is no longer needed.>>

I think they did and would invite you to read some of the passages out of Acts Chapter 15.

And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved....
.. they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question...And when they were come to Jerusalem they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders....but there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, that it was needful to circumcise them and to command them to keep the law of Moses....And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe...and put no difference between us and them,...now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear.......Then pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own country to Antioch....and they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia.

Notice that Peter is the one who said that God chose his mouth to speak to the Gentiles, and that it was a good while ago.

Chris

Santiago,

(Acts 1:1 NIV) In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach

(Acts 1:2 NIV) until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen.

APOSTLES WERE GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS BY JESUS

(Acts 1:3 NIV) After his suffering, he showed himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.

(Acts 1:4 NIV) On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: "Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.

(Acts 1:5 NIV) For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit."

APOSTLES BAPTIZED WITH HOLY SPIRIT

(Acts 1:6 NIV) So when they met together, they asked him, "Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?"

(Acts 1:7 NIV) He said to them: "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.

(Acts 1:8 NIV) But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

APOSTLES RECIEVE POWER BY HOLY SPIRIT TO BE WITNESSES TO WHO?? JERUSALEM AND IN ALL JUDEA AND SAMARIA, AND TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH

How can we ignore this?

36 "Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."

Lord of what? Christ of What?

38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off--for all whom the Lord our God will call."

The promise?

16 By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus' name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see.

This was the man healed of lameness. Was he healed by the Law?

Acts 4:33 With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all.

How can we say only Paul had the despensational message of grace?

(Acts 11:4-18 NIV) Peter began and explained everything to them precisely as it had happened: "I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision. I saw something like a large sheet being let down from heaven by its four corners, and it came down to where I was. I looked into it and saw four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, reptiles, and birds of the air. Then I heard a voice telling me, 'Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.' "I replied, 'Surely not, Lord! Nothing impure or unclean has ever entered my mouth.' "The voice spoke from heaven a second time, 'Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.' This happened three times, and then it was all pulled up to heaven again. "Right then three men who had been sent to me from Caesarea stopped at the house where I was staying. The Spirit told me to have no hesitation about going with them. These six brothers also went with me, and we entered the man's house. He told us how he had seen an angel appear in his house and say, 'Send to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter. He will bring you a message through which you and all your household will be saved.' "As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came on them as he had come on us at the beginning. Then I remembered what the Lord had said: 'John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.' So if God gave them the same gift as he gave us, who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could oppose God?" When they heard this, they had no further objections and praised God, saying, "So then, God has granted even the Gentiles repentance unto life."

What do I do with this story of Peter?
