Michael, re >>Any news releases sighted recently?<<
Isn't no news good news? Actually, the Iomega related news
has recently come from non-Iomega sources, like Syquest
and Compaq.

>> FWIW, exec. at major box-maker told me tonight that Compaq is blowing the doors off this Q. Not saying this is 'huge' for IOM....<< Well then, it's a good thing your NOT saying its good for Iomega since Iomega loses $$$ on every OEM drive sold. Therefore, if Compaq is blowing their models with Zip drives out the door, the chances for bigger and bigger Iomega losses grow as well.

RE: Compaq

Its been a while since my last post. I am in Utah right now and was shopping with my brother who needs a new computer. We decided on Compaq's model 5030 (I think that is the number). Had to go to four stores before we found it in stock. The machine is zipped and is a great deal for the price. FWIW, all the sales reps from Computer City, Future Shop, Circuit City said that this box is the hottest selling retail unit. They can't keep them on the shelf even with regular shipments.
