Hello Zaxbowow:

I think I agree with you. I do not perceive the special value in this. This is a move toward more advertising and promotion -- recent history indicates this is a modest margin in a declining margins business.

I looked at NetScapes NetCenter for the first time tonight. Looks like one of the ISP's I use. Ho hum. My past experiences with NetScape's home page were irritating --relatively user unfriendly. They just seem to miss the pizzazz necessary for revitalizing the business their efforts attempt to address.

Assuming a 10% margin on the Citicorp deal, there would need to be more than one deal a week to help pay for NSCP's payroll of 2000+ employees. I plan to remain short NSCP. Target in the teens within two months.
Best regards,
m

zax....I do not own a single share of this company but am observing it since it was a very active stock volume wise monday. Just giving credit where credit is due and amazed that the Company may survive as a "new" company (non Browser). If it ever gets to 40 again I will buy puts .

zaxbowow, please correct if I'm wrong, but it seems to me that new COO is a very good fit for a vacant position. So this event has nothing to do with oncoming earning report.
Michael.

How many companies do you know that replace their COO just before "positive" earnings?

Interesting first post. Welcome to the Netscape board. It's always a good idea though to have your facts straight before posting. Netscape didn't have a COO. Hope you didn't short based upon that alone!

Best of luck with your short.

Long live shorts!

Cheers -
