TO ALL: From Randall McCallum

Three points of view, but very different reactions from the reader.

'It is insight into human nature that is the key to a communicator's
skill. For whereas the writer is concerned with what he puts into his
writings, the communicator is concerned with what the reader gets out of
it. He therefore becomes a student of how people read or listen.'
(If I remember right, it comes from William Bernbach.)

'If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or
clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it
again. Then hit it a third time with a tremendous whack.'
(Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965), statesman)

'Never explain. Your friends do not need it and your enemies will not
believe you anyway.'
(Elbert Hubbard (1856-1915), American writer and businessman)

Now that I have gauged this SI thread and the many reactions to my posts,
I'll give you the tally from the e-mails and calls that I have received
in the past three days. This is somewhat meaningless and not statistical,
but it proves a point that certain people get too wrapped up in threads,
like this. And even I can crank the heat up on the SI thread.

over 15 e-mails: Speak your mind Randall. I'm in THW for the long haul.

3 e-mails: I am a shareholder, and if you say anymore on SI I'll sell my
THW stock.
I wonder why they didn't just sell instead of trying to dictate to me
with threats of selling?

3 e-mails: Don't really know what to make of this stuff on the thread,
but when is news about THW coming out?

2 e-mails: Did you post to BOBz. Si?

2 calls: Did you post to Bobz. To Si?

1 call: Very conservative person that was concerned about the exchange
halting us, but supportive.

1 call: Very irrate person. Those bastards on SI. They're all stupid.
When's the lawsuit with Aggarwal going to be settled?

5 calls: I support you and the company. When's the shareholder lawsuit
happening against the Aggarwals?

There are over 800 shareholders in THW that don't care and have never
even heard of Silicon Investor. About 10 of them hold over 200,000 shares
each. One or two of them with over 500,000. Many of them probably just
like you. Some of them call one in a while with the standard stuff. Your
thread is in the minority of shareholders for THW. Don't act like you are
the conscience of this company. Your not. If you want to sell. Then Sell!
Threads like this are not ready for any company officals to particpate in
unless those officials are ready and willing to kiss up to everyone.
That's not going to happen with me.

Very few people like Steve Jobs, but are not arguing with his style
lately. He's getting the job done at Apple. I've dealt with him and his
people a few times lately and also in the past and I like his style.

I have a similar style to Jobs. Many people don't like it, but I am not
here to make friends. I have a ton of friends already. Many in the
industry and many others. Only a few come from the financial world. And
they are not the conservative types. That's why I am not and nor do I
believe that I am the best to deal with them. They don't want facts, they
want to hear what they want you to tell them.

Brian is the balance here at THW and draws to the conservative. He'll be
back from holidays next week. That will make the very conservative
investor types happy. I hired him for that reason. I for one am getting
back to designing great software, and challenging my development team to
build the next great product. A wired sprite editor for interactive
movies. For those radical types that appreciate change, it's happening.
E-mail me whenever you want. It's kind of boring particpating on these
threads and sucks up too much valuable time.

I set out to heat the SI thread up and only person called and hit the
nail right on the head.

Your heating up the THW SI thread on purpose, aren't you?

My Response: Really! It shouldn't have taken a rocket scientist to
figure that out.

Now in the real world:

Adobe just fired 3 top executives and laid off 300 employees. They are in
some serious trouble. They miscalculated the low end market and the iMac.
Guess what market THW targeted?
