Today's price action in Dell computer puts a Big
question mark on its ability to stage a meaningful pre-
earnings runup.

You are right - there won't be one. You bulls ran it up a month ago and then it came down again. There is absolutely nothing holding up DELL's price now (at least that's what my TA says).

David (short DELL)

zalesky,

CPQ's PE according to yahoo is NA, according to Discover is 21.46.
DELL's PE " 76 " 74.58.

>put it in CPQ and leave the driving to Pfeifer!!<

Pfeifer has put it in the ditch for the last two quarters. As I really do want to make $$$$ I will keep my seat on the train. Unlike PK, MD doesn't lie to his shareholders.

CPQ is experiencing the "dead cat" bounce. They have become a bloated, visionless bureaucracy playing "me too" to Dell's business model. They have become the "old" IBM and Pfeifer will lead them to obscurity and loss of market share like Roger Smith did to GM. They need a visionary to lead them out of their doldrums. Jack Smith has re-invented GM...who will do it for CPQ ? Certainly not Pfeifer !
